Dressing up Simple Fall Staples

Hey guys!

With Hurricane Matthew allegedly heading our way, the winds have picked up a little and the breeze is feeling more brisk. I can’t say I’m terribly upset by that because I love fall and I love layering and I love everything having to do with earth tones. It’s such a lovely season…you can over hear overtired basics ordering pumpkin spice lattes, see people wearing full on shearlings (when literally it hasn’t dropped below 60 yet), and feel the wind whip past your face. IT’S MY FAVORITE.

That being said, usher in my fall lewks! Some of my favorite clothing in my wardrobe comes out in the fall. This outfit is no exception and I’m super pumped I’m able to start wearing more pieces like these.¬†To start, I’m wearing two pieces from JcPenney, which, I know might seem a little off, but I was incredibly surprised upon slipping into these pieces.

I got a wide brimmed olive hat with leather detailing and a cream crewneck thermal, both from the brand¬†Arizona. This hat is a god send. As most of you know, I love wide brimmed hats, but I don’t wear them ALL too often. The fall is my time to showcase all sorts of goodies, and this style hat is no exception. The color and texture are both on point and I’ve been needing an olive accessory for a while now. Also, it was SUPER affordable, on-trend, and SO worth it.

I paired this hat with the comfy cream thermal, a chocolate leather jacket, black skinny jeans, and a pair of chocolate ankle boots to tie it all together. I know people freak out a little when they think about black and brown together, but it works here because there are two neutrals anchoring the rich brown. Personally, black and brown together is one of my favorite color schemes!

All in all, don’t knock JcPenney until you’ve stepped back into their stores! They’re new collections look, fit, and feel great and come in at a steal at the register.

What do you think about this look?
