sunday’s are usually pretty packed with work for me, but today pretty much defined what a sunday should be like.

i started off by going up to harlem around 145th street to hang with my friend nicole. she’s an awesome graphic artist and one of my best friends. she’s actually designing my logo which will be up soon! we tanned together on the roof because we’re both obsessed with getting tan for the summer. after hanging on the roof for a few hours, we got showered and started our day outside the apartment.

i got a coke in a glass bottle from a bodega because they honestly just taste better (and it felt right to be drinking it there, i don’t know why). we ventured up to the cloisters right off the 180th street stop off the a train in hudson heights. i’ve never been there before but i was absolutely blown away by the fact that it existed and i had no idea. it’s breath-taking. there are a ton of levels and stairs that wind around into this beautifully immersive medieval-meets-nature-wonderland. there are flowers, beautiful ivy, and trees for days. it was the perfect escape from the city for the day. the buildings that are in the cloisters all are made from antient monestaries from all over europe. the met own’s the entire area and there’s actually a museum!

if you haven’t been i strongly suggest you check it out! it’s not too too far from the city and it’s serenity makes up for your travel time.

Kiel and I went up there when we were in NY visiting Nicole in 2012. It is pretty incredible. You wouldn’t think such a peaceful place exists on the island.

P.S. This blog is a fabulous idea!
